Community Covenant Connection (C3)

Southwick & Cotter Homes Day Festival

Volunteer Code of Conduct

Mission: C3's mission is "Authentic neighbors helping neighbors create a safer, non-violent community one block at a time." All volunteers are expected to represent this mission through respectful behavior, teamwork, and service to the community.

1. Professional Conduct

Volunteers represent Community Covenant Connection (C3) and must conduct themselves in a respectful, helpful, and professional manner at all times.

  • Treat all guests, residents, vendors, children, and seniors with respect
  • Use appropriate language at all times
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming attitude
  • Volunteers must not engage in arguments, aggressive behavior, or disrespectful conduct.

2. Identification

All volunteers must wear their C3 volunteer shirt, badge, or identification while on duty so guests can easily recognize event helpers.

3. Safety Responsibility

Volunteers help maintain a safe environment but are not security or law enforcement.

  • Report safety concerns immediately to the Event Lead or Safety Lead
  • Help keep walkways and emergency access areas clear
  • Notify leadership of medical concerns or emergencies
  • Volunteers should never physically intervene in conflicts or dangerous situations.

4. Role Responsibility

Each volunteer has a specific assignment.

  • Remain in their assigned area or role
  • Follow instructions from Volunteer Leads or Event Coordinators
  • Communicate if they need assistance or must temporarily leave their post

5. Family-Friendly Environment

This event is designed to bring the community together in a safe and positive way.

  • Welcoming to families and children
  • Respectful toward seniors and community members
  • Inclusive and supportive for all attendees

6. Alcohol, Drugs, and Smoking

Volunteers may not consume alcohol or drugs while volunteering.

  • Smoking should not take place in public event areas while representing C3.

7. Problem Reporting

Volunteers should report issues rather than trying to handle major problems themselves.

  • Vendor disputes
  • Safety concerns
  • Medical emergencies
  • Overcrowding or unsafe behavior

8. Community Respect

Volunteers must help protect the community by:

  • Keeping event spaces clean
  • Respecting vendor property and equipment
  • Helping maintain an organized and welcoming environment

9. Teamwork

Volunteers are part of a team working together to serve the community.

  • Support fellow volunteers when needed
  • Communicate respectfully with leadership and teammates
  • Work together to solve small issues quickly

Volunteer Agreement

By volunteering for the C3 Southwick & Cotter Homes Day Festival, I agree to follow the Volunteer Code of Conduct and support the mission of Community Covenant Connection.
